Jacques Brel is one of history's greatest lyricists and performers. His songs portrayed passion and depth; sometimes scathing, ironic, hopeful, desperate, sorrowful, cruel, bitter, playful, mocking, tender or reeling from one emotion to the next.
Presented by Nick O’Connor, Being Brel is a multi-layered production, which celebrates the life and chansons of Jacques Brel. This live and passionate performance of Brel's songs (sung in English, French and Flemish) is interwoven with projected imagery, monologue and a narrative based on interviews and research of Brel's complex life.
A theatre piece not to be missed – whether you’re a Brel aficionado or discovering his work for the first time.
